May 01, 2021 - May 02, 2021 | 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
This two-day workshop was greatly enjoyed by everyone, a truly enriching experience.
Catherine led everyone through the many stages of her unique technique to produce her
individual style of paintings; starting with a base ground of acrylic inks, then transparent Gesso
to block in some areas of the canvas, finally using Acrylic paints to complete the work.
She used several tools to ranging from palette knives to paper towel and cloth to several styles of brushes.
This workshop will be a mixed media workshop using acrylic or watercolour as a base and incorporating acrylic inks which the Society will supply if you do not have any, (limited colour palate).
Catherine says “a still life beyond realism would work well as a subject. It is mixed media and both acrylic or watercolour or both can be used. I also introduce ink and collage. The idea is to set up a long table of still life flowers, pots, vases etc and to work from there. Its a wonderful subject to get involved in particularly over two days and also is a real confidence booster."
Times are for both days, 9.30 am for a 10.00 am start - 4.00 pm finish.
Cost: AAS and SAWS members $180 non members $200
