Chris Braham

When Chris first retired, she took a few art classes for interest but was surprised when art soon became a significant and beautiful part of her life.

Chris has explored a range of media and styles through many courses, workshops, summer schools and classes, with generous artist-teachers here in Adelaide. This has included using water-colour, oils, acrylics, charcoal, pastel and lino printing to create landscape, still-life and portrait paintings, which are her special interest. Chris found that she was particularly drawn to using oils. The appeal for her was the way the paint could be applied, the texture of the brush strokes, and its luminosity.

“Participating regularly in the Adelaide Art Society Life Drawing and Portrait painting ‘Sketch’ groups, is a wonderful way to practice skills, learn from others and above all share the joy of art.”
