Capturing the light

Alan Louis Ramachandran is a multi award winner in his medium of watercolour.
Since migrating to Adelaide in 2007 he has won about 15 top awards and 60 combined awards. He has had 9 solo exhibitions and 4 group exhibitions and been a finalist in the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize, a finalist in the Pro Hart Landscape Art Prize, Fleurieu Art Prize and Adelaide Hills Landscape Art Prize. Currently Alan conducts watercolour classes, workshops for art societies and art demonstrations at Rotary Art Shows, and Art Societies.

He likes the free flow of the watercolour medium as he lays the washes on to the paper to create an atmospheric mood to the painting.
For our Social Night, Alan will be demonstrating how to capture the light to create a successful painting. Alan will be using water-colour but the composition principals he will demonstrate apply to all media.

Alan is also conducting a one day Black and White Charcoal Landscape Workshop on coloured pastel paper at the Adelaide Art Society on Sunday May 29th 9.30-4pm. Cost to members $75, non-members. $85.
