Presentation by Lyn Lobo, Oil landscape and Still Life artist

“I am a painter with a focus on landscape and still life painting. While my paintings appear representational, my subject matter mysteriously makes itself known to me. A moment of light, a weather condition, the shape of one object next to another, colour combinations in particular lighted situations. These are all abstract, sensory thoughts that sit in my body and play in my dreams.

I paint mostly from observation, memory and sometimes from photographs. Although I am a perceptual painter, what I try to catch is a felt experience of beauty that nature reveals to me.“

Lyn has trained in visual arts, Traditional Chinese Medicine and psychology. These three disciplines are the foundation of Lynn’s creative practice. She brings her whole self to her paintings. Her cultural background is Goan /Portugese. Lynn now lives and paints on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.

For our Social Night, Lyn will talk about her art practice and inspiration. She will demonstrate in oils either a still life or landscape.
