Annabel Hume, Sculpture, Textile and print making artist

April 26, 2024 | 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Last night Annabel Hume gave a wonderful art demo, showing how she moulds delightful clay figures and then paints and scratches into the clay before glazing and firing to produce her unique figurines. Annabel was generous in answering many questions and sharing her techniques, materials and process as well as giving useful tips for those who are interested in this medium. It was a most enjoyable evening. Thank you Annabel.

Adelaide Art Society Social Night
Friday April 26th 7.30pm
With Annabel Hume, sculptor, textile and printmaking artist.

Annabel is a visual arts graduate from the University of South Australia with a major in sculpture and printmaking. In the last 10 years she has completed further study in metal casting, intaglio printmaking and ceramics at ACArts.
For the last three years, Annabel has focused on ceramics. She has participated in several group shows in Adelaide and had her first solo exhibition in Melbourne in 2019. She also teaches workshops in textiles, printmaking and sculpture.
“After travelling to America three years ago I began to really appreciate how delicate, unique, fragile and ancient Australia is and I celebrate our endangered and diminishing fauna in my work. Each piece is unique. I hand build then surface paint using sgraffito before glaze firing.”

For our Social Night, Annabel will talk about her art experiences and model one of her delightful sculptures, explaining her process.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to socialise with other like-minded art enthusiasts over supper so bring a small something to share.
